RNA Regulation Antibodies

RNA is ribonucleic acid. It is somewhat similar to DNA in that it is made of nucleotide units. RNA nucleotides are molecules that consist of a nitrogen base, a ribose sugar, and a phosphate. RNA is a single stranded chain of nucleic acid which can fold on itself to form a variety of different shapes. Although RNA is synthesized from DNA, RNA is particularly responsible for the regulation of gene expression. There are numerous steps involved in gene expression. These steps include DNA-RNA transcription all the way to the post- translational modification of the finished protein. Each of these steps along the way provides opportunities for RNA regulation. Gene expression occurs in prokaryotes, eukaryotes, and viruses. RNA regulation antibodies bind to RNA regulating proteins or ligands and can facilitate, halt, or otherwise change the process of RNA regulation.

Anti- dachshund homolog 1 antibody binds against the dachshund homolog 1 protein which plays a role in the development of the central and peripheral nervous systems. It is more specifically involved in the production of olfactory and autonomic neurons. In essence, it activates RNA transcription. The anti- SOX3 antibody binds against SOX3. Humans with defects in SOX3 exhibit a growth hormone deficiency caused by a malfunctioning or missing pituitary gland. Affected individuals show dwarfism, insufficient thyroid function, under-developed sex organs and extreme cases cachexia. Treatment typically includes hormone therapy.
