Tim Bernard, President 
Tim Bernard, President of Abcore LLC, is an accomplished commercial leader and biotechnology consultant. He has 25 years experience of executive level leadership within the life science sector and successfully operated and subsequently sold a significant antibody company.
He has experience of leading all facets of a SME and combines this with a detailed knowledge of the political and regulatory landscape relating to the Biotech industry and the ability to engage with life science leaders on both a commercial and technical level.
As Head of Global sales (and Managing Director) with AbD Serotec (a MorphoSys Ag company) he managed a team of 115 people, all serving the LifeScience markets globally.
With his in-depth understanding of the LifeScience market, Tim is able to contribute huge amounts of knowledge to Abcore LLC, particularly with reference to sales and marketing.
He is also the CEO of the private biotech consulting firm Pivotal Scientific and sits on the Board of Everest Biotech, Innova Biosciences, and Chromocyte.
David Barraclough, Vice President of Marketing
David Barraclough, Vice President of Marketing at Abcore LLC, has a strong background in both scientific research and computer science. Prior to Abcore LLC, David worked for ProSci, Inc., where he managed web development, internet marketing, search engine optimization, and eCommerce for 5 years.
David has a degree in Molecular Biology from UC San Diego, where he worked as a research associate for 7 years. While working at the UC San Diego Medical School for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, he was a co-author on publications and managed a DNA sequencing facility and a microscopy core facility. David also founded RenderGen, a 3D computer animation company which produced “mechanism of action” movies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Jennifer Johnson, Vice President of Operations
Jennifer Johnson, Vice President of Operations at Abcore LLC, has 18 years of laboratory experience offering a wide variety of lab related expertise. Her specialties include polyclonal antibody production in a variety of species, ascites production, antibody purification, monoclonal antibody production/development, and project management. She has been involved in all levels of antibody production and understands the detailed processes.
Jennifer joined Abcore in 2011. Prior to Abcore she worked for QED Bioscience Inc. (a former business unit of Immunopharmaceutics Inc.) for 16 years working her way up from laboratory technician to the Manager of Operations. Prior to QED she worked for another leader in the polyclonal antibody industry, HTI Bio Products.
Jennifer is an energetic and detail oriented person who loves a challenge.
James Bernard, Commercial & Finance Coordinator
James Bernard, Commercial & Finance Coordinator at Abcore LLC, is a commercially driven and results orientated business leader and strategist who offers over 28 years executive level experience within the research/life science industry. He was an integral part of the start up and ongoing executive management of the Serotec group of companies, managing the end to end process over a 23 years history from start up through to its eventual sale for £20m. For those years he had P&L accountability for a Euro 22.million turnover operation and expanded the business through setting up sister companies across Europe and North America. Through this experience, he has amassed detailed understanding of the political ,regulatory and competitor landscape and has utilized this information to design and deliver effective commercial strategies.
He is the Director of 2BScientitic Ltd, supplying Immunological Reagents to the UK Life Science market and is a Director and sits on the Board of Oxford Expression Technologies Limited. James also acts as Company Chairman for the Axicon Auto ID Group of Companies, the world leader in Bar Coding and Bar Code Verification.
Katrina Rooney, Scientific Data Analyst
Katrina Rooney, Scientific Data Analyst at Abcore LLC, has a strong background in data collection, validation, and modeling. Over the course of her career she has pioneered new data collection strategies and streamlined the process of data collection for both scientific and behavioral applications. Prior to joining Abcore in 2012, she helped on projects for Lehigh University’s neuroscience, chemistry, and psychology departments, San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park and local agencies providing behavioral therapies. Her respect for numbers and efficiently organized charts as well as her training and experience in the web design field support her current position of analyzing and cataloguing new and existing products and antibodies for display on abcore-inc.com.
Katrina is a graduate in behavioral neuroscience from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA with 8 years of experience to offer. Katrina is committed to efficiency and excellence with regards to our scientific data and marketing avenues.
Nancy Sapper, Custom Antibody Sales
Nancy Sapper, Custom Antibody Sales at Abcore LLC, is a biotechnology professional with specialized experience in polyclonal and monoclonal antibody sales. After attending college at the University of San Diego, she became a key member of the HTI Bio-Products senior management team. HTI Bio-Products was an industry leader and pioneer in customized, packaged, antibody production protocols for diagnostics and peptide synthesis companies. Using her broad base of contacts in the Greater San Diego Biotechnology sector, Nancy will be specializing in custom sales, new business development and major market expansion within the local biotech community.
Nicole LeCureaux, Product Supply Specialist
Nicole LeCureaux, Product Supply Specialist at Abcore LLC, is a biotechnology professional with 10 years experience in the clinical manufacture of cell and gene therapy based-products.
Nicole joined Abcore in 2012. Prior to Abcore she worked for Genzyme in the biological manufacturing group where she was responsible for a wide variety of manufacturing activities that ranged from small and large scale cell culture, purification and fill/finish operations in accordance with cGMPs. She later transitioned to the facilities department where she managed corrective and routine maintenance, and project delivery and execution. Prior to her work at Genzyme she worked for Cell Genesys which focused on the development and commercialization of biological therapies.

Melinda Higgins, Marketing Coordinator
Melinda Higgins, Marketing Coordinator of Abcore LLC, is a graduate in both Linguistics and Graphic Design. Over the course of her career history she has put her communication skills to good use: After working for Ikea for several years in the Visual Communication department, she freelanced as a graphic designer, and gained experience across a variety of industries.
In 2008, Melinda became the Marketing Director for Pivotal Scientific, a biotech consultancy firm, based in the UK. The experience she has gained in this role, coupled with her creative conceptual skills ensure that she is constantly seeking innovative solutions for her team and clients.
